Devizes School Hotels, B&Bs and Pubs around Wiltshire

Nice new hotel and right in the middle of Devizes. The hotel is very modern. Friendly and welcoming staff. Restaurant is always busy but cannot hear the noise from the room. Breakfast is also cooked to order. Parking can be arranged if you call in advanced and the hotel will direct you on best places. Comfortable beds and decent bathroom facilities. Lots around but shops close early.

Our stay was amazing. Not only was the host accomodating but the food was superb. The entire hotel was clean and well kept and the rooms a good size. I would fully recommend the food though as it was both well presented and delicious. I would stay again.

Had a lovely weekend here! Beautiful building, love the interior design! Very rustic. Food and drinks were traditional pub food at a very reasonable price but amazing quality. The staff were all so nice, cheerful and helpful. The manager was particularly great- made time to chat to everyone which I love. We went for a walk along the canal to see the locks (only a 5 minute walk from the hotel). Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Spacious and unique. It has a large outside area that is half covered. The pub is filled with unique items of history that gives it an old pub charm.

Good hotel except.. Weeks worth of grime in bathroom. General cleaning good but bad cleaning habits not picked up. Floor dirty. Weeks worth of grime behind door, by shower and around door stop. Accumulated grime around shower controls, soap dispenser and grouting. Room 202. Shame as everything else okay. Slept with window open and road noise acceptable.

A very welcoming and friendly atmosphere both to musicians and customers. I have played there several times and it is refreshing to have such a welcoming pub, whose owners encourage new music and local musicians. Can't recommend it enough. Musicians NEED venues like this and customers who appreciate and endorse the music we create.

Great pub with a wide range of beers & ciders, the landlord & landlady are very hospitable and can't do enough for you.

Great service and good beer selection, pricey food for average dishes. The battered cod was mistaken for a stickleback. And the deep fried brie was only deep-fried one end and the other end was cold!! Also book in advance, as if you turn up to eat.......all the tables are reserved even if it's empty!! 🍻

Great pub, worth a visit. Staff were cheerful. Preferred the bar to sitting in the courtyard as during our visit they were playing techno so we beat a hasty retreat to enjoy soaking up the atmosphere.

Lovely pub. Dog friendly. Very friendly barmaid and locals. Lovely to sit outside and watch the boats going up and down the canal.

A very pleasant and comfortable place to say and explore the area. The owners are very helpful and enable me to stay longer than planned with no inconvenience. I recommend this property fully.

The cottage was a real home from home for a family gathering. It comfortably slept six and was clean and every amenity was provided. We were delighted to find the fridge well stocked and if we ran out of anything there was a shop nearby. If time had allowed we would have enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden. It was perfect for us.

Stayed here with 6 other friends for a weekend in September. The host was very generous and friendly and the house was perfect. Potterne is a quaint village only 5 minutes from Devizes, which is lovely. The hosts left a book full of local recommendations which was perfect! I'd definitely recommend and rebook!

The hosts are very nice. The service is really good, as there is a breakfast form you can fill in and it's not just traditional English b&b breakfasts. You write the time you want to eat breakfast and what you want to eat. The breakfast is outstanding, especially the bacon. It is just the right amount of crispness and has a lot of flavor. There are also some animals that they own. There are two donkeys, three ducks, and a lot of chicken.

Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, good food and lovely rooms. Recommended

Stayed for 2 nights we received a very warm welcome from the start and were looked after through out our stay. The breakfast was amazing especially the full English breakfast.

A great B&B with small but cosy and conveniant rooms and a wonderful garden. Candy and Lloyd are amiable hosts and always keen to offer the best service. The afternoon tea in their garden was a highlight of my trip. Devices is a good starting point to make bike tours along the Kennet & Avon Canal to Bradford-on-Avon or to Avebury Henge or Lacock.
